istanbul Veneers Guide
General information and ,a bit more, about veneers
What are veneers?
Veneers are thin ceramic fragments we bond to visible surfaces of the teeth,That means we only grind minimally ( 0.5-0.7 mm) from the front surface of the teeth , gain space for esthetic enhancement we are going to do and material thickness for the ceramic.
Veneers can be used to treat a number of different cosmetic concerns;
-
Chipped teeth,
-
Broken teeth
-
Discolored teeth
-
smaller-than-average teeth.
-
Minor misalignments
It’s possible to get only one veneer in the case of a broken or chipped tooth, but many get between 16 to 20 .We aim to go for 20 veneers for better harmony and boosted esthetics.
types of veneers?
We use porcelain for our dental veneers ,but there are also different materials for these restorations. For example composite veneers. Basically Ceramic is glass and composite is plastic. Plastic can’t even come close to glass when esthetics is the target.
Applying traditional dental veneers typically involves grinding down the tooth structure, sometimes removing some of the tooth — even past the enamel. This allows for proper placement, but it’s also an irreversible procedure that can be painful to go through and often requires a local anesthetic.
There is also “prep- less” concept in modern dentistry technology. We follow this concept in our Daily practice. We grind as minimum as possible . Always!
On the other hand, no-prep veneers have been promoting in recent years. Scientific papers has not fully support this concept yet, and there is great evidences about negative effects on the gum health.
Porcelain veneers
We prepare the teeth and take silicone impressions for our labratory.
Once the veneer is ready, we go ahead and try the veneers in,make our modifications and finally bond the veneers.
Temporary veneers are used until the permanent veneers come back from the lab.
We use computerized technology for fabrication of your dental veneers. But computers and softwares are only for the technical part of this process.
A master ceramist (ceramic artist) Works on your teeth and gives soul to it.
Thats why our veneers look vivid, alive and characteristic.
How much do veneers cost in istanbul?
The cost of your veneers depends on factors like what type of veneers you’re choosing, what brand name your dentist has available, the area you are choosing, and the dentist’s expertise. In Istanbul ,veneers cost between 2000 TL-9000 TL for each unit.It is more logical to stay around the average.
How are veneers bonded to the teeth?
It takes between 3 to 5 days for your veneers back from the lab.
Once your veneers are in, we can schedule an appointment to have them placed.
At this appointment, we evaluate the fit, shape, and coloration of the veneers to make sure they’re perfect for you.
Next, we clean your teeth. This is important, as it keeps bacteria from being trapped under the veneer and causing decay.
After this, we use chemichal agents to create a rougher texture on each tooth on which a veneer is to be applied. This makes it easier for the veneer to stick to the tooth.
Then we use dental cement to bond the veneer to the tooth and use ultraviolet light to harden this cement quickly.
This second appointment (where veneers are placed) typically last little longer than 3 hours. But it might vary depending on the number of veneers being done and if a local anesthetic is used.

The recovery process doesn’t take a long time. Instead, once the veneers are cemented on, and anesthetics wear off, you can eat and chew as you normally would.Ofcourse it will be different than before. But it is a learning process. Your body and muscles will learn how to use your new knives.
In some cases, immediately after the veneers are applied, you may notice that they feel a little rough. These rough spots (usually from extra cement that can adhere to the veneer) wear down after several days of normal eating and teeth brushing.
Traditional porcelain veneers typically last at least 10 years(and some research suggests that they can sometimes last as long as 20 years), and no-prep veneers last around 5 to 7 years. Taking certain precautions can help make sure that you get the longest lifespan out of them as possible. These precautions include:
-
Don’t chew on hard objects like pens, ice, or your fingernails.
-
Never use your teeth to open packaging.
-
No opening bottles with them!
-
If you grind or clench your teeth at night, get a splint or retainer to protect your veneers.
-
If you play sports, you should wear a mouth guard.
UNPLEASENT TRUTH ABOUT VENEERS!
-
There is always a possibility for them to fall , chip or break.
-
They are not stronger than our own teeth, anything can break your teeth can break our veneers too.
